Brief Bio of Ramesh Jaura

Ramesh Jaura, a German national, is the recipient of the ‘Federal Cross on Ribbon’, awarded by the Federal President of Germany in June 1996, for promoting international understanding.

He is co-founder, Director-General and Editor-in-Chief of the International Press Syndicate (INPS) Group, with IDN-InDepthNews as its flagship agency. INPS headquarters are in Canada and Germany and associate headquarters in Japan and Singapore.

The International Press Syndicate’s IDN-InDepthNews, online since 2009, and its other issue- focused websites – SDGs for All and Toward a Nuclear Free World offer news and analysis that go beyond breaking the news.

Ramesh Jaura has been a professional journalist for nearly 55 years. He started his career as a journalist in India at the age of 22 – after obtaining a Master of Arts degree from the University of Delhi.

In 1968 he travelled to Europe and reported for over nine months from Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, the Soviet Union, Austria, Germany and France.

In 1970, he returned to Europe to report from West Berlin, Bonn, Budapest, Prague and Warsaw for several Indian and UAE weekly newspapers. Since then, he has been in Germany.

He has been a frequent participant in TV talk shows in Germany on international relations.

Ramesh Jaura has visited Kazakhstan five times – and initiated IDN journalistic coverage of the country, writing about cultural, social, economic and political issues.
